Managing people’s expectations is a daily part of a cosmetic surgeon’s job.  Individuals can have a different approach to their issues.  One may be very emotional about how hard they’ve exercised, and yet the weight isn’t coming off.

Another might be practical and see liposuction as necessary for their goals.  We find using a nurturing, easy-going approach with a serious discussion about solutions is helpful to our clients.  Our goal is to make everyone who walks through our door feel as if they’ve been treated like a VIP at a 5-Star resort hotel.  Every concern is essential and should not be brushed off.  This helps ease patient tension too.  Patients find out they can let their guard down and really talk to us about their specific problem.

A patient’s own positive approach can help them succeed in their goals too.  For instance, when a Los Angeles local visits us determined to permanently fix their stomach with a surgical solution, a little light-heartedness helps.  Maybe they make a little joke about their situation, humanizing their troubles.

Although we appreciate a good sense of humor, it’s important to allow our patients to help guide the initial discussions.  It’s valuable to listen and learn before reviewing cosmetic solutions.  And when someone talks about their “love handles” or “pooch” with a little nervous giggle, we are happy to follow their lead.

If you appreciate a lighthearted moment, there’s a trend where pregnant mothers are “belly dancing,” and we think it’s pretty cute!

Whatever you decide to call it, a Tummy Tuck in Los Angeles is the Answer!

We’ve heard our patients use all kinds of names for their midsection: belly, pooch, paunch, potbelly, and even breadbasket! Whatever they choose to call it, they want to know if a tummy tuck is the answer. And it certainly can be. We might come to a mutual agreement that some additional liposuction could help, too.

Studies show when someone is preparing for a surgical procedure, a good attitude is essential to their well-being.  Many of our patients are mature adults over forty years old and they’ve already been through some changes in their lifetime. They may have had to cope with other challenges in the past. The Welstone Blog notes how a positive outlook can be very helpful as we age.  Finding the “funny” in a situation can help improve mental health!

A healthy and appropriate sense of humor also develops a friendly bond between people, strengthening a relationship. And that little humor can help reduce anxiety prior to surgery. When our patients feel confident and at ease, we notice their surgery and recovery can go smoother too.

Our Beverly Hills clinic team always takes tummy tuck surgery seriously, but we can still enjoy some lighthearted discussions! If you’re considering a tummy tuck, liposuction, or other type of cosmetic surgery here in Beverly Hills, please give us a call!
